§ From William Branch Giles

31 August 1809, Wigwam, Amelia County, Virginia. The Virginia senator recommends John Love [member of the House of Representatives] and Alexander Scott of Georgetown as persons qualified for the District of Columbia judgeship that is now vacant. Encloses Scott’s letter to him, so that JM may be better informed.
