MS (MHi); written on a scrap in an unidentified hand; undated; endorsed by TJ: “Sep. 12. 15 Staples”; with TJ’s calculations at foot of text converting the amount due Staples to $8.075; unrelated fragment of notes in an unidentified hand on verso.

Guerrant & Staples obtained a license to keep an ordinary in Buckingham County in August 1815 (Vi: RG 48, Personal Property Tax Returns, Buckingham Co., 1815; MB description begins James A. Bear Jr. and Lucia C.
