I am in want of about 3 pounds of white Lead which is not to be had in this place at present, if you have it & Can spare that quantity I will be very much Obliged to you & will either pay you for it or return it as you may wish, I am Sir

On 3 June 1813 TJ directed Edmund Bacon to pay $35.74 on his store account with Winn’s firm, Wayt & Winn (MB description begins James A. Bear Jr. and Lucia C. Stanton, eds., Jefferson’s Memorandum Books: Accounts, with Legal Records and Miscellany, 1767–1826, 1997, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Second Series description ends , 2:1289).
