Richard Evers Lee (ca. 1754–1814) represented Norfolk County and Norfolk Borough in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1790 and 1803–04, respectively, served as a borough alderman for many years, and was Norfolk’s mayor, 1807–08. During the last eight years of his life, he was president of the Branch Bank of Virginia in Norfolk (National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Patriot Index [2003], 2:1624; , 2d ser., 17 [1937]: 525–6; , 180, 232; New-York Gazette & General Advertiser, 1 July 1807; no. 3239; Norfolk City Will Book, 3:149; Washington Daily National Intelligencer, 22 June 1814).
