M. Bacon & C. Peyton have bargained for all the corn C. Peyton may have to sell—except about Seventy barrells—that is C.P. is to let M. Bacon hav[e] One hundred Barrells if he makes as much to sell aftar deducting the above Seventy; the Corn to be recavd between the 1st & tenth of Novr On the rivar bank. at Twenty Shilling ⅌ barrell payable on the first day of March 1814—the Corn for the use of M. Jefferson;

MS (MHi); edge trimmed; contract in Peyton’s hand, signed by Edmund Bacon and Peyton; first receipt on verso, in Peyton’s hand and signed by Edmund Bacon; second receipt written perpendicularly to first, in Peyton’s hand and signed by him, adjacent to signature: “M. Jefferson”; third receipt written below second, in Dawson’s hand and signed by him; endorsed by Peyton: “Corn contract for 1813—E. Bacon” and by Dawson: “Craven Peyton to Martin Dawson & Co} Dft $280.00 1st March 1814.”
