[Williamsburg] 26 June 1779. Approval requested for the purchase of cloth for the army and navy. Signed by Thomas Whiting and Jacquelin Ambler. Countersigned: “In council July 2. 1779. Approved Th: Jefferson.”

On 18 June 1779 the Assembly by joint ballot elected Jacquelin Ambler, Duncan Rose, and Thomas Whiting members of the newly established Board of Trade (JHD description begins Journal of the House of Delegates of the Commonwealth of Virginia (cited by session and date of publication) description ends , May 1779, 1827 edn., p. 55).
