On 16 Aug., GW wrote the Board of War: “I am favd with yours of the 6th.” At the end of its letter to GW of 14 Aug. , the Board of War added the following note: “The resolves & instructions for the ⟨hide⟩ department forwarded to H. Quarters the 6th inst.”
