Since I had the Honr of Transmiting your Excely An Acct of the Enemies Fleet’s sailing, Nothing of Importance has Come to my Knowledge—The Cork Fleet Consisting of 34 Sail Left Sandy hook on Tuesday Morning Last.1
The Accts respecting the Situation of our Northern Army as handed to us at this place is so Various as to Induce me to beg the favr to have the Accts from Some one of your Excelys Family. I have the Honr to be Your Excelys Most Obdt Servt

1. British transport ships destined for Cork, Ireland, sailed from Sandy Hook, N.J., on Tuesday, 29 July 1777.
2. “Mr Pemberton” may be Robert Pemberton, who had been appointed a first lieutenant in Forman’s Additional Continental Regiment in mid-June 1777. Pemberton was named regimental adjutant in October 1777, and he was promoted to captain in January 1780. Pemberton retired on 1 Jan. 1781.
