May the 3d 1792.

Gentlemen of the Senate,

I nominate the following persons to fill vacancies which have taken place in the late military appointments—to-wit—

The Senate read GW’s message on this day, and it considered and concurred with the president’s military nominations on the following day (Executive Journal description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States of America: From the commencement of the First, to the termination of the Nineteenth Congress. Vol. 1. Washington, D.C., 1828. description ends , 1:121–22). Tobias Lear informed Henry Knox of the Senate’s concurrence on 4 May (DLC:GW).
