Isaac A. Coles delivered TJ’s message to the Senate on 2 Mch. The Senate dispensed with the rule that nominations should lie for consideration, immediately approved the three appointments, and sent the decisions to the president (JEP description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States … to the Termination of the Nineteenth Congress, Washington, D.C., 1828, 3 vols. description ends , 1:486).
