From James Madison to Louis-André Pichon, 15 May 1804 (Abstract)

§ To Louis-André Pichon

15 May 1804, Department of State. Transmits to Pichon an extract of a letter recently received by the collector at Charleston.1 If the illegal armament of which this letter speaks is not stopped by the agent of the French republic at Charleston, wishes Pichon to give the necessary orders to have it discontinued forthwith.
