Described in Daniel Brent to Stephen Smith, 9 Feb. 1804 (DNA: RG 59, DL, vol. 14), as enclosing the protest of Benjamin Brown, master of the brig Laurel of Boston, against the impressment from his ship of John Hynn of Machias by the British at Barbados on 17 Oct. 1803.
