The work sent to TJ by this day’s mail was probably the 9 Jan. 1815 second edition of Carey’s The Olive Branch: or Faults on Both Sides, Federal and Democratic. A Serious Appeal on the Necessity of Mutual Forgiveness and Harmony, to save Our Common Country from Ruin (Philadelphia, 1815; Sowerby, description begins E. Millicent Sowerby, comp., Catalogue of the Library of Thomas Jefferson, 1952–59, 5 vols. description ends no. 3539).
