RC (MHi); postscript adjacent to closing; addressed: “Mr Th: Jefferson Montisello”; with notations by TJ on verso: “Wren Aug. 5. pd Wren 1.D.”

On 5 Aug. 1822 TJ recorded paying a Mr. Wren $1 for “bringing up busts” (MB description begins James A. Bear Jr. and Lucia C. Stanton, eds., Jefferson’s Memorandum Books: Accounts, with Legal Records and Miscellany, 1767–1826, 1997, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Second Series description ends , 2:1388).
