[Providence, June 5, 1790. On June 14, 1790, Hamilton wrote to Wheeler:2 “I have received … your letter of the 5th Instant.” Letter not found.]

1. Wheeler, a native of Nova Scotia, was the publisher of the [Providence] American Journal and General Advertiser from 1779 to 1781 and The [Providence] United States Chronicle from 1784 to 1802. The second of these two papers supported ratification of the Federal Constitution and Federalist party policies.
