Asks Graham to examine the registers delivered to the State Department by Mrs. Skipwith to see whether they contain the papers JM had requested earlier. Also inquires about the delegation of executive powers under the law of June 1794.

Undated; conjectural date assigned based on John Graham to JM , ca. 13 Jan. 1817 , at the bottom of which JM wrote this reply.
