1This letter of 20 June from Geary, assistant commissary of clothing at Fishkill, N.Y., to GW has not been found.

2GW’s letter to Geary of 19 June, written at West Point, reads: “If you have not received a copy of the order itself the inclosed is the substance of a general order lately issued for regulating the future drafts of Cloathing—You are to furnish the troops on the East side of the River and at this post with such articles as they may stand in need of, agreeable thereto” (Df, in Alexander Hamilton’s writing, DLC:GW; Varick transcript, DLC:GW). The enclosed general order has not been identified, but GW is referring to a portion of the general orders for 30 May.
