Je vous souhaite un tendre bonjour mon cher Papa, et vous prie de me prêter pour quelques instants le recueil des Romances de J.J. Rousseau.

La chaleur excessive, des inquiètudes sans nombre, des affaires m’onts empechès tous ces jours ici d’aller vous dire combien je vous aime tendrement, c’est ainsi mon cher Papa, que je vous embrasse.

9The date on which the publication of Rousseau’s Les Consolations des misères de ma vie, ou recueil d airs, romances et duos (Paris, 1781), a collection of vocal solos and duets with basso continuo or accompaniment for various chamber music combinations, was announced: Jour. de Paris, April 12, 1781.

The proceeds from the edition were intended for the Hôpital des enfants trouvés and the publisher listed the names of the subscribers, BF and Mme Brillon among them, at the head of the volume in order to publicize the project. See the announcements in the Jour. de Paris for Jan. 11, and Dec. 19, 1781.
