Middlebrook [New Jersey] May 28, 1779. Favors peace with Onondagas in order to weaken the hostile confederacy. Sets policy for exchange of Indian prisoners.

1Schuyler and Douw were commissioners of Indian affairs of the Northern Department. Schuyler had resigned his commission in the Army on April 19, 1779.
