To John Adams from Jan Willink, 12 June 1787

Amsterdam 12 June 1787

We did ourselves the pleasure of waiting on your Excellency per last mail, under the date of the 8 Inst: advising that your Excellency had by mistake omitted to Sign four obligations, and that we should forward them for the addition thereof, per first trader from hence for London.– This we now find to be an error Occasioned by the Notary, as on Examination we find the secretary that signs on account of the Stamps, has omitted to annex his name thereto, which we shall in course get effected.

Inclosed your Excellency will please to receive the Translation, the postage of which we do not consider of Sufficient Consequence for us to detain it to send it per a Ship.

We have the honor to remain with due respect / Sir / your most Obedt. & hble Servts.

Wilhem & Jan Willink
