U.S. 13. feb: 1794.
By the President’s order Bw Dandridge has the honor to return to the Secretary of war the letters and enclosures from Gov. Blount which have been submitted to the Presidts perusal;1 and to enclose, at the same time, a Letter from the Gov. of Pennsylvania to the President, with a request that the Secretary will report to the President his opinion on the subject thereof.2

1. On 12 Feb., Knox submitted letters from Gov. William Blount of 14 and 15 Jan., and their enclosures, for GW’s consideration. According to GW’s executive journal, these two letters, which have not been identified, “contain’d nothing of any particular importance; but mention that the Creeks generally are irritated against the Spaniards & wish for peace with UStates” (, 283–84).
