Mount Vernon Augt 13. 1792.

Dr Sir,

Under a blank cover, I returned signed the provisional Contract for the supply of the Lighthouse in New Hampshire.1

G: Washington

LB, DLC:GW.

1On 3 Aug., Hamilton had forwarded to GW a provisional contract for the supply of the New Hampshire lighthouse with his and Tench Coxe’s opinions of it (see Hamilton to GW, that date, and note 1).

2For more information about the letter from the U.S. commissioners at Amsterdam to Hamilton of 31 May and the Holland loan of 1792, see Hamilton to GW, 3 Aug., and note 2.
