I have the honor to send herewith, agreeably to the order of the House of Representatives, of the 15th of December 1794,1 Sundry petitions heretofore referred to me, and which are Specified in the inclosed list;2 and to be, with perfect respect,

1On December 15, 1794, the House “Ordered, That the respective Heads of Departments be discharged from further considering all such petitions referred to them, concerning claims of individuals, as they cannot speedily report upon” (Journal of the House description begins Journal of the House of Representatives of the United States (Washington, 1826), I, II, III, IV. description ends , II, 265).
