1. Lincoln was collector of customs at Boston.
2. Letter not found, but see H to Otho H. Williams, January 21, 1794. The letter to Lincoln presumably was similar to that sent to Williams, collector of customs at Baltimore, and the enclosures to Thomas Pinckney, the United States Minister Plenipotentiary to Great Britain, and to Willink, Van Staphorst, and Hubbard, the United States bankers at Amsterdam, were probably duplicates of those enclosed in H’s letter to Williams.
3. Letter not found.
