From Alexander Hamilton to Jeremiah Olney, 24 July 1793

To Jeremiah Olney

Treasury Department, July 24, 1793. Acknowledges receipt of Olney’s letter “of the 26th ultimo” and states: “From the special circumstances growing out of a new law,1 I rather forbear to recommend the enforcement of Penalties in this case.”
