Millicent Sowerby, comp., Catalogue of the Library of Thomas Jefferson, 1952–59, 5 vols. description ends no. 2090; Poor, Jefferson’s Library description begins Nathaniel P. Poor, Catalogue. President Jefferson’s Library, 1829 description ends , 10 [no. 582]). Not recorded in SJL. This document, located after the pertinent chronological volume was published, will appear in the concluding supplement to the print edition.

Leitch’s records indicate that on this day TJ purchased by order fifty-seven pounds of iron for $4.75 (TJ’s Transactions with Leitch, 6 Mar.–30 May 1820). For “tire-iron,” see TJ to Benjamin Jones, 4 Mar. 1815, and note.
