Dear Sir,

With heartfelt pleasure I congratulate your Excellency on the auspicious Event of the Votes of the Electorrs of the United States.

Permit me, Sir, to recommend the Bearer of this, my esteemed, Neighbour & Friend, Capt. Gustavus Fellowes, as a Gentleman of the best establish’d Character; whose merit, as it has, in times past, secured him universal Esteem & Confidence, render him now very worthy any Trust Our Country may repose in him.

Deeply impressed with Sentiments of the greatest Respect, / I am Your Excellency’s / most Obedt. & very Humb. Servt.
