The quartermaster general was referring to the treaty between the United States “and the tribes of Indians called the Wyandots, Delawares, Shawanoes, Ottawas, Chipewas, Putawatimes, Miamis, Eel River, Weeas, Kickapoos, Piankashaws & Kaskaskias,” known as the Treaty of Greenville, 3 Aug.
