Decemb. 16. 1794.

By the Presidents order Bw Dandridge respectfully transmits to the Secy of War the copy of a resolution of the House of Representative, of this date; with a request that the Secretary will prepare a Report agreeably thereto.1

1On this date the U.S. House “Resolved, That the President of the United States be requested to cause a report to be laid before this House; of the measures that have been adopted, pursuant to the Act of the 27th of March last, for building ships; of the progress hitherto made, the compensations allowed to persons employed in the different branches of the business, together with an estimate of the expense for completing the same” (LB, DLC:GW; see also Journal of the House description begins The Journal of the House of Representatives: George Washington Administration 1789–1797.
