From Henry Knox

War Department, July [24] 1794. “I have the honor to transmit you a letter this day received from the naval agents in Philadelphia1 for a supply of money. I concieve it would be proper immediately to place in the hands of each agent2 the sum of five thousand dollars for them to be accountable.”
