Bartholomew Dandridge, Jr., to Thomas Jefferson

By the President’s direction Bw Dandridge has the honor to transmit to the Secretary of State a resolution of the House of representatives, just received1—& to request the Secretary to furnish the several papers therein required.2

1This resolution of 24 Dec. reads: “Resolved, that the President of the United States be requested to cause to be laid before this House, the substance of all such laws, decrees or ordinances respecting commerce, in any of the kingdoms or countries with which the United States have commercial intercourse, and which have been received by the Secretary of State, and not already stated to this House in his report of the sixteenth instant” (LB, DLC:GW).
