General Orders

Head-Quarters Morristown saturday March 4th 1780.

Parole Nation— C. Signs Nobility. Negro.

Regimental returns of cloathing called for the 29th ultimo are not all brought in, which occasions the delay to issue the shoes and other articles on hand—Commandts of regiments who do not comply with the order by tomorrow at farthest will be made answerable for the neglect.

Adj. Gen. Alexander Scammell’s orderly book entry for this date includes the following additional general orders: “Genl St Clairs Division furnishes the Morris Town Pickett and Fatigue for the New Orderly Room tomorrow and next Day.

“the Detachment under command of Majr C. Stewart will March this afternoon. the Troops will be on [the] grand Parade at three oClock” (orderly book, 17 Oct. 1779–22 March 1780, DNA: RG 93, Orderly Books, 1775–1783, vol. 33).
