[Diary entry: 21 April 1775]

21. Captn. Curtis dind here. In the Afternoon my Brother Jno. Billy Washington, & George & Charles Lewis came.

Capt. Philip Curtis and GW were settling the accounts of the brig Farmer, which GW sold ten days later to Thomas Contee, of Maryland (General Ledger B description begins General Ledger B, 1772–1793. Library of Congress, George Washington Papers, Series 5, Financial Papers. description ends , folio 192). Billy was William Augustine Washington (1767–1784), son of GW’s brother John Augustine Washington. George and Charles Lewis were sons of GW’s sister Betty and her husband Fielding Lewis.
