Inclosed are the Invoices of the Cargoes taken on board the Scotch Transports, which I received from the Agents.1 I am Your Excellency’s Obedient Humble Servant

P.S. I have just received an account from Cape Ann that two Ships were the sixth instant sent into that Harbour by a Privateer lately fitted out from this Town; the prizes were from the West Indias, one had four hundred hogsheads of Rum for General Howe, the other was bound for England with four hundred hogsheads of Sugar, two hundred hogsheads of Rum, Cotton Wool &c. &c.2

1. These enclosures have not been identified but see the inventories of the cargoes taken from the ships Lord Howe, George, and Annabella, in , 4th ser., 6:1113–14.

The ship Creighton, which was carrying rum from Antigua to General Howe at Halifax, and the ship Zachariah Bayley, which was bound from Jamaica to London with various West Indies products, were captured in the Gulf of Florida by the Massachusetts privateer sloop Yankee.
