Sir

I take leave to enclose you, a Copy of a Resolution of the Senate.1 The Committee appointed by that Resolution, have directed me to inform you, that they will wait on you, at Such time as you may please to appoint, In order to commune with you, upon the matter referd to them. Accept assurance of my high respect.

1. The enclosed Senate resolution, dated 10 June 1813 (1 p.), referred Albert Gallatin’s nomination as a member of the St. Petersburg-bound peace commission, along with JM’s message “of the 7th Instant,” to a committee composed of Senators Anderson, King, Giles, Brown, and Bledsoe. The message included in the referral was actually JM to the Senate, 3 June 1813, which was received in the Senate on 7 June (Senate Exec. Proceedings description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States of America (3 vols.; Washington, 1828). description ends , 2:350–51).
