6 November 1809, Lexington, Kentucky. Seeks reappointment as U.S. marshal for Kentucky after his term expires on 26 Jan.

RC (DNA: RG 59, LAR, 1809–17, filed under “Crockett”). 1 p. JM also received a letter from Harry Innes, dated 27 Nov. 1809, endorsing Crockett’s reappointment (ibid.). JM nominated Crockett for a further four-year term on 19 Dec. 1809 (Senate Exec. Proceedings description begins Journal of the Executive Proceedings of the Senate of the United States of America (3 vols.; Washington, 1828). description ends , 2:130).
