Goodman; written on two sheets, each folded to form four pages, and each with pp. 2 and 4 left blank; undated, but compiled during TJ’s visit to Poplar Forest, after the birth on 17 Nov. 1812 of Henry, son of Sarah Hubbard; before the birth on 14 Dec. 1812 of Sally Goodman, daughter of Aggy; and possibly prepared in conjunction with TJ’s exchange of letters with Archibald Robertson at the end of November (, pt. 1, 131; TJ to Robertson, 29 Nov. 1812; Robertson to TJ, 30 Nov. 1812).
On separate sheets in the document printed above, TJ listed the textile distributions for the slaves respectively residing at the Bear Creek and Tomahawk plantations of Poplar Forest, grouping them by family as he did in a slave list printed above at the end of 1811. The young one was Henry. bess (Betty, b. 1747) evidently cared for her grandchildren after the death of her daughter Suckey in 1811 (, pt. 1, 131).
