MS (MHi); undated; endorsed by TJ: “Sep. 13. 15. H. Flood”; with TJ’s notation beneath sum that the amount owed was $6.50.

On 11 Sept. 1815 TJ recorded paying $.25 in tips at Flood’s tavern. Two days later he paid a total of $6.75 for lodgings “&c. going & coming” (MB description begins James A. Bear Jr. and Lucia C. Stanton, eds., Jefferson’s Memorandum Books: Accounts, with Legal Records and Miscellany, 1767–1826, 1997, The Papers of Thomas Jefferson, Second Series description ends , 2:1313).
