[To Alexander Hamilton from Thomas Truxtun], [22 March 1802]

[From Thomas Truxtun]1

[Norfolk, Virginia, March 22, 1802]

Copy, Hamilton Papers, Library of Congress; JCH Transcripts description begins John C. Hamilton Transcripts, Columbia University Libraries. description ends , Columbia University Libraries.

1In JCHW description begins John C. Hamilton, ed., The Works of Alexander Hamilton (New York, 1851–1856). description ends , XI, 533, this letter is incorrectly addressed to H. Actually, it is a copy in Truxtun’s handwriting of a letter which Truxtun wrote to Aaron Burr and which he presumably sent to H for H’s information. Truxtun’s letter to Burr, which Burr received and endorsed, may be found in the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

The contents of this letter are similar to those of Truxtun to H, March 26, 1802.
