Th: Jefferson asks the favor of mr Barnes to have the inclosed paid to mr Gelston. he will thank him also for 20. D. in 5 dollar bills.

In his financial memoranda at 27 Oct. 1803, TJ recorded his request that Barnes pay David gelston $55.62 “for freight & duty of 300. bottles of wine from Bordeaux” (, 2:1111).
