9. This is only BF’s memorandum of Penn’s account, not the bill sent to the proprietor. Two similar memoranda, containing most of the same items and a few additional ones, are also in APS.
1. James Steel, receiver-general of Pennsylvania and the proprietors’ agent.
2. Probably the advertisement, signed by Steel and dated Sept. 5, summoning all persons to make payment for lands surveyed to them; it was printed in the Gazette Sept. 12.
3. Mark Catesby’s Natural History of Carolina, of which the first part appeared in London, 1731.
