James Rumsey’s supporters are anxious for Congress to take action on copyright and patent legislation so that the inventor’s improvements in milling machinery will be protected against those who would “reap the benefits of anothers toil: which is the only thing we most fear.” A bill should be acted upon before Congress adjourns.
