Mr Cabell is requested to lay the inclosed proceedings of his Collegues before the Governor & Council for the exercise of their power of Controul, should they consider any part of them as requiring.

Tr (ViU: JCC); written entirely in Cabell’s hand beneath endorsement for his Tr of Minutes of Central College Board of Visitors, 26 Feb. 1819, with his related notation: “The paper of which this is a copy was enclosed under the following note from mr Jefferson”; undated. Not recorded in SJL. Enclosure: Minutes of Central College Board of Visitors, 26 Feb. 1819. Enclosed in TJ to Cabell, 1 Mar. 1819.

The governor of Virginia was James P. Preston.
