Washington, June 19, 1815.

With profound respect, I am, sir, Your faithful servt

Jo: Gales, Jr

RC and enclosure (DLC). RC docketed by JM.

1The enclosed extract of Thomas U. P. Charlton to Gales, 22 Apr. 1815 (2 pp.), asked that some mention be made in the Daily National Intelligencer of Capt. Abraham A. Massias’s “conduct at St. Mary’s, where he certainly distinguished himself, as a brave and skilfull commander.”

2Friends of their country.
