This statement was endorsed on a wrapper titled "statement of Interest payable at the Bank of the United States to the President of the United States." The items to which it referred are presumably identified by a second note on the wrapper, addressed by Oliver Wolcott, Jr., to the cashier of the Bank of the United States and dated 2 April 1795: "It is the desire of the President that the Interest on the Certifs. inclosed being in six P. Cent Stock Dolls. 3.746.29 & in 3 P. Cent Stock Dolls. 2.947.88—may be paid to B. Dandridge Esquire."
