To George Washington

Treasury Department, March 26, 1793. Submits “a communication from the commissioner of the Revenue, relating to a Contract for the building of a Beacon boat for the use of the River and Bay of Delaware.”1 Concurs in the views of the commissioner.2

An entry in JPP description begins “Journal of the Proceedings of the President,” George Washington Papers, Library of Congress. description ends for March 26, 1793, reads: “A Contract for buildg, a Beacon-Boat for the use of the River & Bay of Delaware, for 264 Dolls.—which being represented by the Commissr. to be upon the lowest terms that the object can be completed—and that it is necessary—I approved the same” (JPP description begins “Journal of the Proceedings of the President,” George Washington Papers, Library of Congress. description ends , 91).
