On September 9, 1792, Lutterloh wrote to Hamilton : “Your favor of the 4th July … I had the honour to receive.” Letter not found. ] Lutterloh came to America from Germany during the American Revolution and served as a deputy quartermaster general of the Continental Army with the rank of colonel.
