To John Jay from Peter Jay Munro, 29 April 1792

From Peter Jay Munro

NYork 29th. Ap. 1792—

Dear Sir,

On My Return last Evening, I recd. your Favor of the 24th. Instant.1— The Payment of your Note to Mr. Clarkson, shall be punctually attended to.—

The Election is over; but from the Complextion it bore, on the first Adjournment of the Polls in Town, I have Doubts, whether the Majority of the city, will eventually prove, in Favor of yourself, or Mr. Clinton.

On the Activity of our Friends, on the subsequent Days, I can not deside, not having recd. any Information since my Return— West Chester County as yet fully equals my Expectations, tho’ the Town of Rye, has not given you, the number of Votes, I was led to believe, it would.— The Accuracy of the Subjoined Statement, may be relied on.— In a Day, or two, I shall write to you more fully on this Subject.—

The Young Cattle are arrived— they look well— The enclosed Letter was left at my office Yesterday. I am Dear Sir, Your aff[ectiona]te. Nephew,

P. Jay Munro

The Hon. John Jay—
