From Alexander Hamilton

[Philadelphia] 24th March 1792.

The Secretary of the Treasury has the honor to communicate to The President a letter which he has just received from Mr Short. It communicates the agreeable information of a Loan at four per Cent.1

1The enclosed letter of William Short to Hamilton was either that of 23 or 28 Dec. 1791, both of which announced the new loan completed at Amsterdam (see Syrett, Hamilton Papers, description begins Harold C.
