From George Washington to Thomas Jefferson, 7 February 1792

To Thomas Jefferson

[Philadelphia, 7 February 1792]1

The enclosed came to my hand yesterday evening—I have heard nothing more of Mr Johnson. I wish the business to which these letters relate, was brought to an issue—an agreeable one is not, I perceive to be expected.

1. Jefferson endorsed this undated note as having been received on 7 Feb. 1792. The enclosure was probably Pierre L’Enfant’s letter to GW of 6 February.
